Rebellion and state violence in the struggle of the APPO in 2006
Introduction:
2006 was a significant seizure in the country, repression in Atenco, against the workers of the Pasta de Conchos mine and Cananea, in addition to an electoral process that led to the lack of legitimacy of the Federal Government. The repression against the social movement of Oaxaca was one of the most violent and painful events in Mexican society. The permanence of an authoritarian state led thousands of citizens to demonstrate against getting in response a series of demonstrations of violence.
From June 14, 2006 Oaxaca City was never the same. The sit-in request for annual requirements of Section 22 of the teachers was violently evicted by police State and municipal. The reaction of teachers, related organizations and people in general, was to return the square of the city and call for 22 to form a front of organizations that were originally called People's Assembly of Oaxaca.
