The Seventh International Congress on Higher Education "Universidad 2010" began in Havana, Cuba, with the presence of more than 3000 delegates from 60 countries, including 20 trade ministers.
A total of 2123 papers will be presented at the meeting, which discussed various topics such as study graduate science and technology, training of educators and distance education, among others.
According to First Deputy Minister of Higher Education of Cuba, Rodolfo Alarcón, the event will have a high scientific, academic and social engagement.
Venezuela will participate with the wider foreign delegation composed of 309 professionals and is led by the People's Minister for Education and Higher Education, Hector Navarro and Luis Acuña, respectively, and the People's Power Minister for Community, Erika Farias.
Monday will be made for different pre-congress courses and the official opening will be delivered by Minister of Higher Education of Cuba, Miguel Diaz Canel, in the afternoon at the Karl Marx Theater.
Under the motto "University for a Better World", the event will run until February 12 at the Havana Convention.
