The Seducer of Homeland Enrique Serna or other memories of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna

Introduction:

about four decades ago historiography in our country has been subjected to a serious review by specialization and professionalization of historians. This revisionism is part of a major effort to overcome traditional models that had a history mutilated, which both leaders and rulers had sought to keep stone. On this foundation, the novel was written revisionist The seducer of the country (1999) Enrique Serna. The protagonist of this work, General Antonio de Padua María Severino López de Santa Anna y Pérez de Lebron-governed the nation on several occasions and their actions shaped the history of the country, for that reason has haunted both historians and writers of novels.
The main objective of this thesis is to analyze four key features that seems to me this novel as postmodern registering: metafictional character, establishing intertextual dialogue with other historical works and other novels, autobiographical parody of the opening speech fictional margins that lead to a more revealing of some female characters who realize their life by the protagonist. Therefore, this research seeks to relate discussions of Mexican and international historiography and those belonging to literary studies, above the interest in reviewing the points of contact between these two types of discourse.

The interface of tourism and daily life in the built environment of Cancun

Introduction:

I have chosen to examine the tourism and the complexity of its social ramifications reflect the condition of modern humanity in the relationship alienated tourist / tourism workers. I hope that this thesis achieve a perspective that reveals the human condition and emphasizes the ways in which our social structures have been separated by more than ourselves. Tourism and holidays are now an integral part of modern life, work and as such are involved in reproduction and perpetuation of the Marxist concept of alienated labor. My hypothesis is as follows: the holidays are part of the work they are commanded and controlled and serve to renew the energy to continue working without overwhelm us of our condition. We are equally alienated during our vacation during our working day, holidays and work are two sides of the same coin. Normally this impossible for two opposite sides of face, Cancun is impossible but stop when the tourists and workers interact. Cancun people I spoke with showed facets of frustration and anger and perceived injustice and lived as the corruption of their everyday habits. The tourists are unaware of their role in this circumstance and the proximity of their own reality similar. The tourism industry remains of this denial while creating a fantasy of joy. Just as this fantasy is vividly imagined and enjoyed the experience of tourists is vivid. This experience living on a thin line on the border of daily life is the negation of everyday tourist, transposed onto the surface enhanced resident working day per worker in Cancun. More details on the nature of this interaction and the consequent disposal are detailed and explained through a theoretical framework in the second chapter. Just as important as the interface between tourists and workers is the space in which the relationship unfolds, time is both physical and social and therefore composed of thousands of features.
